Zinedine Zidane reveals when he could arrive at Manchester United if he succeeds Ole Gunnar Solskjær

Zidane gives potential destination timeline

Manchester United is still in the hunt for a potential replacement for under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær after the Red Devil’s have been at sixes and sevens in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, and could be on the cusp of making real headway with former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.

Zizou is one of a few top names that have been linked with ousting the Solskjær regime at Old Trafford along with former Tottenham and Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino, but United would, unfortunately, be made to wait if their ultimate wish is to make the legendary France midfielder the new headmaster at the Theatre of Dreams.

According to BILD and SportBILD head of football Christian Falk, Man United would be made to wait until the summer if Zidane indeed is their primary candidate for the managerial position.

The development is a huge blow for Manchester United as the club – and owners the Glazer family – have grown increasingly frustrated by the lack of progress this season under the former Norwegian international.

As United currently sits sixth in the Premier League and is well off the title race pace already, an immediate change looks more likely to involve an interim appointment akin to Solskjær’s initial spell at the club when he replaced José Mourinho.

Man United brass decide a managerial change is necessary

Ole Gunnar Solskjær is all but destined for the sack at Manchester United after the Manchester Evening News reported earlier today that the club has consigned itself to moving on from the Norwegian headmaster.

The news came on the back of increased links with interest in Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers gaining steam as the club looks to find the right man to hopefully get the club back on track in short order.

With the managerial candidate shortlist apparently now down to just Rodgers and Zidane, Manchester United fans could still have a solution presented to them this season with the club currently foundering far below expectations after a credible runner-up finish last term behind rivals Manchester City.
