Footage stemming from the aftermath of West Ham United’s meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday has unveiled an altogether unsavoury exchange between Declan Rice and referee Jesus Gil.

The Hammers, of course, made the trip to Germany late last night, for the 2nd-leg of the club’s Europa League semi-final showdown with the aforementioned Eintracht.

When all was said and done at the Deutsche Bank Park, though, David Moyes’ troops were sent packing from the competition, owing to a 1-0 loss on the night, and 3-1 aggregate defeat.

And, as alluded to above, one member of West Ham’s squad who allowed his emotions to get the better of him post-match comes in the form of Declan Rice.

Evidently of the opinion that the standard of officiating was not up to scratch on Thursday, the visitors’ captain was caught in a furious rant at referee Jesus Gil en route back to the dressing room.

Rice even went as far as to hint at potential corruption on the part of the team of officials, in footage which could yet come back to bite the England international.

‘It’s so poor. All night, it’s so bad. How can you be that bad? Honestly, you’ve probably been f**king paid. F**king corruption.’

Cresswell dismissed

Rice’s rant of course comes after West Ham saw their chances of advancing to a historic European finale dented by way of a red card inside the opening 20 minutes of action in southwest Germany.

Amid efforts to hold the advancing Jens Petter Hauge at bay, Aaron Cresswell was guilty of hauling down the Eintracht attacker on the edge of the visitors’ penalty area.

On the back of a VAR review, Jesus Gil was therefore left with little choice but to send Cresswell for an early bath, setting the stage for an uphill battle for David Moyes’ side:
