YouTube has started testing an “Add to Queue” feature on its Android and iOS apps. Currently, the feature is only available for testing to YouTube Premium subscribers. Until now, the mobile app versions of YouTube, on iOS and Android, have only been known to offer “Save to Watch Later” and “Save to Playlist” features for scheduled playback. These save the video to the user’s library and must be manually deleted to remove a song from the list. Notably, adding to YouTube queue has been available on the web version for quite some time now.

According to a report by 9to5Google, the Add to Queue feature is available for testing on Android and iOS apps only for YouTube Premium accounts. The option will be at the top of the three-dot overflow menu next to the video meta and thumbnail.

Once a user adds a video to the queue, YouTube displays a panel at the bottom of the page indicating the viewing order of the videos that are online to be played next. The panel can be interacted with drag and drop gestures to rearrange the queue, while the left swipe gesture will remove a video from the playlist.

Users who are subscribed to YouTube Premium and want to test out the new feature can do so by going to the Try New Features section from the profile menu of the YouTube app on their Android or iOS devices.

Although Youtube did not list the feature on its support website for YouTube on Google Play Store, a Gadgets 360 staff member was able to access the feature on his Android phone.

The Alphabet-owned video-sharing platform also recently introduced improved spam and abuse detection mechanisms to its platform at a time when social media companies are facing increased scrutiny over their failure to limit abuse and harassment.
