YouTube Music will soon roll out a custom radio playlist feature: report

YouTube Music is reportedly testing a new feature that allows users to create a personalized radio playlist. Currently, the music streaming platform allows users to customize their music queue in the Now Playing section according to the genre and mood of the song being played. According to the report, the “Create a radio” feature, which is still in testing, should soon be rolling out to users in a stable version. Besides that, YouTube Music is also running a poll asking users to vote for the features they want to see on the app.

According to a report from 9to5Google, the new YouTube feature was shared by some YouTube Music users on Reddit, who posted the “Create a Radio” feature in the main stream. However, it is still being tested and will be available to a wider audience. The app offers multiple artist choices for users to let the app know their favorite picks, similar to the initial YouTube Music setup.

As seen in the images provided in the report, the app then allows users to lock their “Song Selection” from the three options offered – Familiar, Blend and Discover. Another step is to select a number of filters, ranging from choices like Popular, Deep cuts, New releases, Pump-up, Chill, Upbeat, Downbeat, and Focus. Once the setup is complete, the custom YouTube Music radio playlist will be accessible.

Meanwhile, YouTube Music also conducts a poll or survey to ask users what app features they like. The survey titled “which feature do you want the most on the advertising medium” allows users to recommend their favorite features. The choice include better recommendations, sleep timer, background playback, and lyrics improvements. However, the survey will only be online for six days.

Recently, YouTube recently rolled out a new update to improve spam and abuse detection on comments and live chat. It also added a feature to notify users when an abusive comment posted from their account is detected as violating the YouTube Community Guidelines.
