“You Have to Go Win” – Cliff Daniels on Hendrick Motorsports’ Strategy to Gun for the 2021 Title
For the last few races, the Hendrick Motorsports team has been on a roll. To be more precise, Kyle Larson has notched up four consecutive wins, including his All-Star win. In light of this, crew chief Cliff Daniels spoke about how they can gun for the Cup Series title.

He told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, “Hopefully we’re building the right process and all parts and pieces have been in place. Come playoff time, we need to be as strong as we need to be. We’ve all seen how the sport can go in cycles. You’ve seen guys who can get hot and can fade and we know that they are asking about our team, are they peaking too soon. When you have an opportunity to win, you have to go win.”
What else did the Hendrick Motorsports crew chief say?
Now, it is the team’s job to ensure that their campaign is smooth and consistent for regular season. Later on, when the Playoffs commence, they should be stronger. For now, the team is focusing on the remainder of the 2021 Cup Series regular season. So far, there are just nine races remaining.
Hendrick Motorsports star Kyle Larson is poised to take over the championship lead. In all honesty, it is surprising to see that Denny Hamlin lasted this long in the championship lead despite not having a win. In his defence, there are still nine race left so there is time to redeem himself.
On the other end of the scale, the Joe Gibbs driver will be aware that the likes of Larson will not be idle. Hamlin will also be wary of the other Hendrick Motorsports drivers, the Penske drivers and his own teammates. Considering that he had the second highest win tally in 2020, to be winless so far will be a little embarrassing.
