Wolves planning to revisit Adama Traore’s contract situation now transfer window has shut

Traore’s Wolves stint

Traore is currently plying his trade in the Premier League with Wolves, who he signed for from Middlesbrough back in August of 2018.

Traore has since featured on 135 occasions for the Midlands-based outfit, scoring 10 and providing 18 assists.

And whilst the 25-year-old’s end product can sometimes be lacking, his raw pace and power make him an absolute nightmare for any full-back in the Premier League.

This was on full display last weekend when he caused Manchester United a host of issues.

And it is no doubt these types of displays that would lead to Nuno Espirito Santo wanting to reunite with Traore now he is Tottenham boss.

The Daily Mail reported early in August that Nuno was keen to be reunited with the winger at Tottenham.

However, during the final week of the window, Wolves were said to have rejected a proposal from Spurs, insisting that Traore was not for sale:

And Wolves were indeed able to keep hold of the former Middlesbrough man for the time being.

Bruno Lage and co. are now also seemingly keen to extend Traore’s current deal, which runs out in 2023.

As per the Birmingham Mail:

“Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning to revisit Adama Traore’s contract situation now the transfer window has shut.”

However, Traore is said to have declined the opportunity to extend his deal over the last year, with it added that he has ambitions of returning to European football.
