Adama Traoré on Tottenham’s radar; Wolves brace for Spurs bid

Wolves’ long-standing relationship with Spanish international winger Adama Traoré could be in its final days as the club expect Tottenham to table a bid the tricky winger before the window slams shut.

Traoré, who has just two years left on his current deal and has yet to come to the table for talks of an extension, could be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a reunion with former manager Nuno Espírito Santo, especially if Spurs sell star forward Harry Kane.

The La Masia graduate would cost Spurs upwards of £40million and could slot into Espírito Santo’s XI in his preferred role out wide, especially if Tottenham decides to forego the purchase of a Kane replacement and deploy Son Heung-min through the middle. Such a cash injection into Wolves coffers could help them secure other transfer dealings before the window closes.

Rafa Mir to be included as makeweight in potential deal for Gonçalo Guedes

Despite the return of Mexican international stalwart Raúl Jiménez and ample attacking options available to new manager Bruno Lage, Wolves have been linked with interest in Valencia’s Portuguese international Gonçalo Guedes and could table a bid for the winger which may include Rafa Mir as a makeweight in the deal.

Mir has spent the last three seasons out on loan (two of which were in his native Spain), with spells at UD Las Palmas, Nottingham Forest, and SD Huesca. It was at Huesca that he had his best spell of senior football, hitting 13-goals in thirty-eight La Liga appearances. But now 24-years-old, Mir is very much on the outside looking in regarding his chances through the center-forward channel, and a successful time in Spain could open the door for a permanent return if Wolves continue to push for Guedes.

A delegation headed up by Jorge Mendes is said to be in Valencia this week in an attempt to hash out a deal for the 24-year-old Benfica youth product, who would add value to a Wolves side under Lage that could do with additional depth on the flanks, especially if Traoré is sold.

Wolves targetting Benfica center-forward Carlos Vinícius

With Patrick Cutrone sent out on loan and the potential departure of Rafa Mir, Wolves have opened talks for Benfica’s Brazilian center-forward Carlos Vinícius.

Interest was high this summer for the former Tottenham loanee, but after Spurs refused to take up their buy option on his previous loan deal, Benfica is looking to move the player on this summer with no less than four clubs tracking the Brazilia, including Wolves.

Both São Paulo and Grémio have been mooted to be interested, as well as Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt previously this summer, but Vinícius apparently prefers to remain in Europe thus ruling out a move back to his native country. Should a deal be completed, he would offer Wolves solid depth through the middle in support of the returning Raúl Jiménez while providing more experience and thus allowing youngster Fábio Silva additional time to adjust.
