Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ Should Have Won Multiple Grammy Awards – American Rapper Wale
Wading into the debate of Wizkid missing out on two Grammys after he got nominated in two categories at the 64th Grammy Awards, American rapper Wale has shared his two cents about the trending issue.
In his opinion, Wizkid’s Essence featuring Tems should have bagged multiple awards at the 64th Grammys. Recall that Wizkid earned a spot in the Best Global Music Performance category, for his song, Essence.
His epic Made In Lagos album also made it into the Best Global Music Album category for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental Global Music recordings.
However, he lost out on bo and this has caused much furore back on the Nigerian landscape of social media thereby attracting the attention of Wale who took to Twitter to write; ”Essence should have multiple Grammys .”
Meanwhile, following Wizkid’s sensational loss of two potential awards at the 64th Grammys held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022, and the huge disappointment being expressed by his fans, a throwback video of the singer has been shared to reinforce the debate.
The song was played at Rocky Dawuni’s Grammy nomination party last night which was held in Las Vegas at a party organized by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) to celebrate Rocky Dawuni’s Grammy nomination.
