Willock deal stalls
Newcastle fans were handed a massive boost over the weekend when it emerged that they had agreed a deal with Arsenal, in principle, to sign Joe Willock on a permanent deal.
Arsenal and Newcastle have reached an agreement over the permanent transfer of Joe Willock.

The young midfielder almost singlehandedly kept Newcastle in the Premier League in the 2020-21 season, scoring seven times in a row as he saw his value skyrocket and become a firm fan favourite on Tyneside.
However, the feel-good factor of the move may need to be tempered slightly, with Sky Sports reporting that personal terms are now a potential stumbling block.
Understand the lack of ‘progression’ in Joe Willock ➡️ Newcastle is due to a distance between both parties on personal terms. There’s no problem between the clubs, Arsenal & Newcastle, who have agreed a fee for the player, rising to £25m. But personal terms still not agreed #NUFC

It is thought that Willock is keen on a return to Newcastle however, which could see this obstacle overcome ahead of the Premier League’s opening weekend.
Kamara bid rejected
In other midfield news, Newcastle are reported to have had a 14 million euro bid for Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara rejected by the French side.

As per L’Equipe [via GFFN], the offer was made verbally rather than formally for the 21 year old, who has just 12 months left on his contract in France. However, Sevilla are also thought to be interested in acquiring his services, which may prove a hindrance for the Magpies.
Everton in for Sean Longstaff
Finally, it seems as though Newcastle may be set to offload midfielder Sean Longstaff. The Newcastle man made 22 appearances last season for Steve Bruce’s side, but is thought to be free to leave this summer.

And it is his old manager Rafa Benitez, now with Everton, who is thought to be interested in taking the 23 year old to Goodison Park. Longstaff has just 11 months left on his current deal, so it is unclear how much Newcastle could demand for him. However, for the Tyneside outfit, every penny counts.
