“Why Would I Be Sacred to Teofimo Lopez?”- Josh Taylor Bashes the ‘TakeOver’ Show
The unified 140 lbs champion, Josh Taylor, doesn’t seem bothered about a possible showdown against 135 lbs titlist Teofimo Lopez. Still fresh from a win against Jose Ramirez, Taylor is now at the peak of his career. He has several opportunities ahead, including many possible showdowns in different weight classes. While Lopez also seems a viable option, Taylor put little importance on ‘Take Over’.
‘The Tartan Tornado’ connected with the IFL TV along with his wife and talked about his next moves. Meanwhile, Taylor also commented on Lopez and accused the lightweight champion of ducking his other contemporaries in Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, and more.
Josh Taylor said, “Why would I be sacred to Teofimo Lopez? Why would I be sacred to him, why would I duck him? He was not even in my radar. He has got unfinished business to do at lightweight. I feel he is the one who is ducking.”

Meanwhile, Teofimo Lopez will defend his lightweight belts against George Kambosos Jr. in August on Triller PPV. This fight will only determine the next step for him.
Simultaneously, the lightweight division has several big names and Teofimo Lopez would have to keep himself in the weight class for some more time if he wants to face the absolute best. Also, as Josh Taylor is also looking for other options, it puts some serious doubt on the future of a possible battle between Lopez and Taylor.

What’s next for Josh Taylor?
Apart from defending his belts, Taylor has also hinted at moving up to the welterweight division. Hence, the Scotsman is on a safe path in his career. He would get the biggest fights in any division, inclusive of a fight against WBO 147 lbs champion Terence Crawford. Adding to that Teofimo Lopez is also a viable name on his road.
Although Josh Taylor has shown very little interest in facing ‘Take Over’, the pair can rightly collide in the future. Lopez is also making big moves in his career and is already a reputed undefeated world champion.
