Why Thiago Silva got angry with Chelsea teammate N’Golo Kante during League Cup final

Why Thiago Silva got angry with Chelsea teammate N’Golo Kante during League Cup final

Thiago Silva would let his frustrations with N’Golo Kante be known in Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool.

The 2022 League Cup final played out on Sunday evening and saw the two aforementioned sides, who had won a combined 13 League Cups before this weekend, clash at Wembley.

Liverpool headed into the tie as favourites and, when all was said and done, did emerge with the win.

However, Chelsea had a number of chances which they squandered or were ruled out for offside – including a Romelu Lukaku goal which really did not look offside at all.

In the end, though, it would be penalties that decided the shootout. Kepa Arrizabalaga, something of a penalty specialist, came on late in extra time for the shootout. However, we did not save a single one of Liverpool’s eleven penalties before then smashing his effort over the bar to hand Liverpool the victory.

Why Thiago Silva go angry with N’Golo Kante

Despite losing the tie, a number of Chelsea players had a solid game.

Thiago Silva put on another starring display despite now being 37, whilst N’Golo Kante was also decent.

However, there was one moment in the clash that saw Thiago Silva lose his cool with Kante.

As explained by football.london, Silva angrily bellowed at N’Golo Kante in the second period after a sloppy pass from the Frenchman allowed Liverpool to start an attack.

Nothing would come of said attack, but that still did not stop the Brazilian from letting his feelings be known to Kante.
