Why Shaquille O’Neal Does Not Expect LA Clippers to Bounce Back in WCF

The Western Conference Finals are underway. With two of the most balanced rosters in LA Clippers and Phoenix Suns facing off against each other, this matchup between the Conference Finals are a must watch.

The series got off to a tough start for the Clippers. After being dominated by the Suns in game 1, the Clippers suffered from a terrible loss in game 2 as superstar Paul George missed two free throws.

But the Clippers showed why they are one of the most resilient teams in the division as they made a solid comeback in game 3 with a 106-92 victory. With the series at 2-1 in favour of the Suns, game 4 is a must-win for the Clippers to make a comeback.

Shaquille O’Neal explains why he does not explain the LA Clippers to make a comeback

The Clippers emphatic victory against the Suns in game 3 was pretty impressive. Given that the Clippers were still missing Kawhi Leonard, and the Suns welcomed back Chris Paul to their lineup, this win by Paul George and Co. certainly showed the Clippers’ mantle.

While many saw this as a win that kicks off Clippers’ comeback in the series, Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal differs. In a recent appearance in NBA TNT, Shaq explained why he thinks that LAC will crash out in the Conference Finals.

“The question is, will, the Phoenix Stars play better. And will, Patrick Beverley be able to get away with a lot of fouls…. I think, you know, the Clippers, they do have a coach is very resilient. He doesn’t panic.”

He added, “I think they can try to you know, possibly win the series but I do not expect the great Devin Booker and the great Chris Paul to shoot 4 for 20. I do not expect that, so I think the Clippers will have a handful tomorrow.”

The Clippers certainly put on a defensive masterclass against the Suns in game 3. With CP3 and Booker missing shots, the Suns’ offense also fell flat. Both Booker and Paul have been pretty consistent in the playoffs so far.

So it won’t be a surprise if the duo make a resounding comeback in game 4. Can the Clippers survive the Suns’ barrage in game 4 and tie the series? Let us know in the comments section down below.
