An explanation for why Mikel Arteta yelled at Kieran Tierney during Arsenal’s win over Watford on Sunday has been provided.
The Gunners were in Premier League action on Sunday afternoon, knowing that a win would see them move into the top-four and stay there if Manchester United lost their game later in the day.
And, when all was said and done, Arsenal came away with a deserved three points. Martin Odegaard opened the scoring on the day, finishing off a well-worked move:

Watford then pulled one back through Cucho Hernandez, but Arsenal quickly retook the lead via Bukayo Saka:

Gabriel Martinelli went on to make it 3-1 in the second half, with a late Moussa Sissoko goal nothing more than a consolation for the Hornets.
Why Arteta yelled at Kierney
It was not all plain-sailing for Mikel Arteta’s side, however, with their defending on the day leaving much to be desired.
So, it is not too surprising to see football.london reporting that Arteta yelled at the full-back for not getting out to Hernandez quick enough at a point in the first half: “He could be seen yelling instructions to his players in terms of positioning, screaming at Kieran Tierney for not getting out to Cucho Hernandez quick enough at one point in the first half, and reeling away to complain to Albert Stuivenberg in a mixture of anger and disgust after Gabriel Martinelli neglected his defensive position to make an attacking run when covering for the Scottish full back.”
