Why Liverpool could be without key Brazilian trio for Leeds clash
Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers
The Premier League campaign has only just started, yet we are already less than a month away from the first international break of the season. What a joy.
The opening international break of 2021/22 will begin in the first week of September, with most sides playing their first of three World Cup qualifying ties on the 2nd of September.
One country indeed doing this is Brazil. Selecao’s first match of the season is a World Cup qualifier on the 2nd of September, followed by another qualifier vs Argentina on the 5th and then one final qualifier on the 9th of September vs Peru.
Liverpool trio to feature for Brazil
However, due to the time differences, Brazil’s final World Cup qualifier of September actually takes place in the early hours of Friday, September 10th UK time (1:30 AM).
Following the clash, which is in Brazil, the national team will of course all then fly back to their respective clubs.
And this, in turn, could cause something of an issue for several Premier League sides, including Liverpool.
Brazil confirmed their squad for the above qualifiers recently, with Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino all set to be involved:

Liverpool, though, have a Premier League meeting with Leeds United at 4:30 PM UK time on Sunday the 12th.
And as the above trio are not expected back in England until at the very earliest Friday afternoon, it is hard to see them being in any condition to feature for the Reds on Sunday after playing a competitive game on Friday morning and then having to fly from Brazil to England the same day.
