Why Chelsea loanee Tino Anjorin has been pictured back at the club

An explanation for the presence of Chelsea loanee Faustino Anjorin at the club’s training base this week has been provided online.

Moscow stint

19-year-old Anjorin of course secured a departure from Stamford Bridge this past summer.

After evidently coming to the conclusion that game-time was set to prove scarce amid the wealth of attacking talent at the disposal of Thomas Tuchel, the English youth international opted to take his talents to the continent.

A loan move to Russian heavyweights Lokomotiv Moscow, in turn, was forthcoming early in September.

Much to the disappointment of the Chelsea faithful, it was subsequently confirmed that Lokomotiv had also secured an option to buy as part of their agreement with those in a position of power in west London, which they fully intend to activate.

The Blues do boast a buyback option, too, but one worth a considerable £34 million.

London return

Anjorin, for his part, has since gone on to feature for Lokomotiv on nine occasions to this point in the campaign, bagging his first goal for the club during a Europa League meeting with Marseille back in September:

So, why, in the thick of his loan, has the midfield talent been spotted back at Chelsea’s Cobham training base over recent days?

Well, late last week, Anjorin suffered an altogether untimely injury blow, fracturing his metatarsal during a training session with Lokomotiv.

And, evidently, west London has been identified as the best location for the so highly-regarded Pensioners youth product to step up his recovery, with Anjorin having taken to social media on Sunday to confirm as much:
