Why Charlie Patino is not in Arsenal’s squad to face Leeds
Arsenal vs Leeds
Arsenal are set to play host to Leeds United in a League Cup clash on Tuesday evening.
The Gunners will head into the game on a fine run of form, which has seen them go unbeaten in their last six league outings following an awful start to the campaign.
Arsenal’s last clash saw them put Aston Villa to the sword by three goals to nil and fans of the north Londoners are no doubt expecting a similar result against Leeds tonight.
The Whites have had a nightmare start to the season, which has not been helped by injuries to key player such as Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips.

Why Charlie Patino is missing the Leeds game
Ahead of the clash with Leeds, Arsenal’s squad list would be announced. The squad list, which can be seen below, did not include youngster Charlie Patino.
Bernd Leno, Cédric Soares, Rob Holding, Ben White, Thomas Partey, Nuno Tavares, Emile Smith Rowe, Pablo Marí, Calum Chambers, Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Gabriel Martinelli, Alexandre Lacazette, Arthur Okonkwo, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Nicolas Pépé, Mohamed Elneny, Folarin Balogun, Martin Ødegaard, Sead Kolašinac, Sambi Lokonga and Bukayo Saka.
This was somewhat surprising as the 18-year-old midfielder has been impressing for Arsenal’s youth sides of late and Tuesday’s tie seemed like a good chance to at least include him in the squad and potentially hand him a senior debut.
Now though, an explanation for Patino missing out has been provided by football.london’s Chris Wheatley.
Wheatley confirmed that Patino is missing out against Leeds after he sustained a minor ankle injury in training:
