Who is Harvey Blair? Liverpool name uncapped duo against Preston in Carabao Cup
Liverpool face Preston North End
Following their heroics against Manchester United, which saw the Reds net five goals against Manchester United at Old Trafford, Liverpool travel to Deepdale to face Preston North End in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Goals from Diogo Jota and Naby Keita began the rout, before Mohamed Salah stole the show and the headlines with a superb hat-trick. This has only increased the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, while the Liverpool travelling fans were handed a night that will live long in the memory.
It is all change this evening, however, as a completely changed XI make the tip to the Championship opponents. The likes of Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Divock Origi make the cut, but there is also a strong smattering of youth in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.

Harvey Blair and Tyler Morton are both set to make their competitive debuts for Liverpool, while exciting midfield talent Elijah Dixon-Bonner is also amongst the substitutes.
Who is Harvey Blair?
The man getting all of the pre-match attention, however, is Harvey Blair. Just 18 years-old, Blair has had a tough time with injuries at youth level, managing just four appearances for the U18s last season.
This season, however, he has already bettered that, returning one goal in his five games in the youth league. A winger by trade, the Liverpool Echo describe him as:
A ‘tricky winger’ who is ‘blessed with good pace, size and ball control’.
With Liverpool’s attacking options thin beyond Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, both of whom will be jetting off for a month in January for the Africa Cup of Nations, there is a chance for young Blair to nail down a spot in the senior squad with a good performance this evening.
