Hammers offered French forward
First up, West Ham are said to have been offered the chance to sign a forward this summer.
Outside of the injury-prone Michail Antonio, West Ham have very little cover up top.
And with the Hammers now set to be playing Europa League football this term, more squad depth is likely needed.
They could get this by signing Alassane Plea, who ExWHUemployee – a reliable source when it comes to West Ham news – claims has been offered to the Londoners for just £15m.
Plea is a centre-forward by trade and would score 12 goals in 39 ties for Borussia Monchengladbach last term. But he is also very versatile and can play on either wing.
Outside of Plea, West Ham also look to have some interest in another Frenchman, Layvin Kurzawa.
The 28-year-old left-back has been on PSG’s books for some time now, but he is not exactly a nailed-on starter, featuring in just 19 Ligue 1 games last term.
And now, West Ham’s interest in the defender is briefly covered by French outlet RMC Sport:
Layvin Kurzawa’s track is still open. The left side of Paris Saint-Germain wants to go. West Ham has also entered the race for the 28-year-old.
Lingard asking price lowered
Finally, West Ham do look to have been handed a boost in their hunt for Jesse Lingard.
West Ham’s links to the Lingard have persisted throughout the summer after the midfielder’s impressive loan spell during the second half of 2020/21.
And now, it appears West Ham could land Lingard for a cut-price fee, with the Express reporting that United have dropped their asking price to around £20m.
