West Ham & Newcastle make fresh offers for Jesse Lingard
Newcastle and West Ham have both made fresh attempts to sign Jesse Lingard on deadline day, according to reports.
Jesse Lingard has been heavily out of favour at Manchester United this season and with a World Cup year now upon us, needs regular minutes if he is to impress Gareth Southgate enough to land a spot in Qatar this winter.
Newcastle did look to be eyeing a loan move for the Englishman earlier in the January window. However, that deal looked to have fallen through following Manchester United asking for a sizable loan fee:

Now though, David Ornstein has provided a fresh update on Lingard’s situation on Monday.
The Athletic correspondent confirmed that Ralf Rangnick has once again given Jesse Lingard his blessing to leave Man Utd on loan, whilst Newcastle have come back in with an improved offer and West Ham have returned with a bid on better terms than last year:

Who should Lingard join?
On paper, Lingard would be better served joining West Ham on loan for the remainder of the season as Newcastle are still firmly in a relegation scrap.
However, from a Manchester United perspective, Newcastle would be the better loan option right now.
This comes with West Ham a direct rival for United in the race for Champions League/Europa League football.
