West Ham blow as key duo forced off during Manchester City clash
West Ham have been dealt two blows on the personnel front during their meeting with Manchester City on Sunday.
Manchester City vs West Ham
One of three Premier League clashes taking place on Sunday at 2 pm UK time would see Manchester City host West Ham.
After Liverpool picked up a win over Southampton on Saturday it was vital Manchester City see off West Ham to regain second spot in the Premier League and also pile pressure on league leaders, Chelsea, who are in action vs Manchester United in the 4:30 pm kick-off.
And, at the time of writing, Pep Guardiola’s side are on course to do just this. Riyad Mahrez thought he had opened the scoring for City after 17 minutes, but it was ruled out for offside.
However, the Sky Blues would eventually take the lead after 33 minutes via Ilkay Gundogan.
West Ham dealt double blow vs Man City
And, at present, the score looks set to remain that way, leaving West Ham in 4th and now level on points with 5th place Arsenal and just three points above Wolves.
As well as looking set to miss out on three points this weekend, West Ham have been dealt a double injury blow vs Man City.
Firstly, after struggling with a knock, Said Benrahma would be replaced by Mauro Lanzini:

Then, shortly after, Aaron Creswell would also be forced off with an injury after crashing into the goal.

With a match against Brighton now facing West Ham on Wednesday, David Moyes will no doubt be hopeful neither player’s issue is too serious as both are regular features for the Hammers.
