Week 12 in review: Oppo Find X6, Galaxy M54, Huawei Mate X3, P60 series official

Week 12 was very busy and full of smartphone announcements, so let’s recap it.

The Samsung Galaxy M54 goes official with a 6.7-inch 1080p 120Hz Super AMOLED display, Exynos 1380 chipset, 108MP main camera, and 6,000mAh battery with 25W charging.

The Oppo Find X6 and Find X6 Pro debuted in China and sadly, chances are they won’t leave. The Pro has what Oppo calls three main cameras – 1-inch 50MP wide-angle, 50MP ultra-wide with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and 50MP 65mm periscope zoom with the same sensor, which is the largest of a module periscope with a bright f/2.6 lens. Impressive!

The Find X6 packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 6.82-inch 1440p LTPO3 AMOLED that will peak at 2,500 nits, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W charging. eventually launched outside of China.

Huawei held a huge Chinese launch. It announced the foldable Mate X3 – with IPX8 waterproofing, dual 120Hz displays, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 4,800mAh battery and triple camera with periscope zoom.

The P60 series includes the P60, P60 Pro and P60 Art. All three phones share the 6.67-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ (1220×2700 px) resolution and 1-120Hz refresh rate. All three phones also have the same 48 MP main camera with a ten-step variable aperture RYYB, OIS and f/1.4-f/4.0 sensor with automatic scene-based switching. For the ultra-wide sensor, the P60 and P60 Pro share a 13MP unit with an f/2.2 aperture while the P60 Art has a 40MP f/2.2 camera. For telephoto, the P60 brings a 12MP module with an f/3.4 aperture, OIS and a 125mm equivalent lens. The P60 Pro and P60 Art feature more sophisticated 48MP cameras with OIS and a 90mm equivalent lens capable of 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.

At least two of Huawei’s phones will arrive in Europe with details to be announced on April 9.

Meanwhile, Tecno launched the Spark 10 series in India, calling it the Spark 10 universe.
