Another week later, so let’s get back to the top stories. Samsung’s Galaxy A34 and A54 have finally been unveiled. The duo, which are sure to be among the hottest phones of the year, boast 1080p 120Hz Super AMOLED displays, 5,000mAh batteries with 25W charging, and IP67 water resistance. The Galaxy A54 has a smaller 6.4-inch display, a 50MP main camera, and a 5nm Exynos 1380 chipset. The A34 has a 6.6-inch display, 48MP main camera, 6nm Dimensity 1080. Both are on sale – the Galaxy A54 starts at €490, while the A34 is €390.

We’ve had a bunch of Google leaks this week. The Pixel 7a has been manipulated in the wild and has even been listed for sale on eBay as a prototype. It has a 6.1-inch display, 8GB of RAM, Tensor G2 chipset, and a 64MP main camera plus a 12MP ultrawide. The Pixel 7a will launch in June alongside the Google Pixel Fold, which we’ve learned will cost €1,700.

We also got a glimpse of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro through leaked renders. The new design is more rounded at the corners, going from a square look to a more curved look. Camera Island is different, though definitely Pixel-esque. The Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to have a 6.52-inch screen – smaller than the Pixel 7 Pro’s 6.7-inch screen. The Pixel 7 will have a 5.8-inch display – smaller than the Pixel 7’s 6.3-inch.

Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 7+ gen 2. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 promises substantial improvements in performance and power efficiency. The main core of the Kryo CPU is clocked at 2.91 GHz and the entire 1+3+4 CPU package delivers over a 50% increase in performance over the SD7 Gen 1. An unnamed Adreno GPU, on the other hand, offers a 2x performance increase. The efficiency gains are a bit more modest – 13% in various scenarios. We hope this chipset makes it to more phones than its predecessor.

That’s it for this week’s recap. You can check out the full list of top stories below.
