WC residents march against violent crimes, farm murders

WC residents march against violent crimes, farm murdersThe fears caused by the high rate of farm murders have made hundreds of Western Cape residents to join the farming community in a march to Parliament.

This march is to take a firm stand against the rising farm murders and violent crimes in the country.

The country has been hit with the frequent brutal killings of food makers on their farms and now, the protestors are fed up and saying “enough is enough”.

They are calling on the government to do more to curb this deadly menace.

Some protesters who took part in the Sunday’s march travelled from as far as Worcester to show solidarity to farmers.

Shaun James who organised the event linked it with the Black Monday movement.

“The event is hosted year on year, it is national and not just in Cape Town. So, there is a lot of people getting together today to actually march.

He indicated that more actions needed to be done to secure the livelihoods of all: “I would like an inquest to the brutality of farmers and farm murders must stop.”

Agriculture MEC Ivan Meyer met with the group outside the Parliament.
