Watford target Arsenal defender as they look for new centre-back in January
Watford struggling in the top flight
Onto their second manager of the season already, Watford have not had an overly enjoyable time in the Premier League this season.
While the 4-1 win over Manchester United, which ultimately cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job, will stick long in the memory of the Watford faithful, the reality is that the London side sit two points above the relegation zone, having lost 11 of their opening 16 games.

With a run of fixtures to come that includes Wolves, Newcastle, Norwich and Brighton, the Hornets will be desperate to start pulling away from their fellow relegation contenders, a fact made harder by Newcastle’s new owners and the likelihood that they will spend significant amounts in the winter window.
There could be some new faces at Watford too though.
Hornets target Arsenal defender
Now, as per The Telegraph, they could be set to make a move for an Arsenal defender, in the form of Sead Kolasinac.
The Bosnian has not played for the Gunners since their 5-0 defeat to Manchester City in the third game of the season, and is currently recovering from an injury sustained on international duty.

However, Ranieri sees him as one potential solution to Watford’s defensive issues, and would look to deploy him as a centre-back, presumably on the left side of a back three, for the remainder of the season.
With six months left on his contract at The Emirates, Arsenal could be happy to cut their losses and see Kolasinac depart on a permanent transfer.
Would he help Watford stay up?
