The vivo X Fold2 teasers continue to come from the Boao Forum 2023 for Asia, which is taking place on the island of Hainan in China. A local blogger took the device for an unboxing, later reposted by vivo on Weibo, clearly as a coordinated marketing event, letting fans learn more about the upcoming foldable.

The new phone will have a 3/4 red leather panel on the back, while the remaining 1/4 has a glossy finish. While handling the X Fold2, we saw new UI features from OriginOS Ocean, including a taskbar for better app management, multi-window modes, and simple gestures – none of which was available in previous X Fold phones.

The device clearly comes with two under-screen fingerprint scanners – one on the cover screen, another on the foldable screen in the lower right corner. This is the first time we’ve seen confirmation of the feature, which is a first for a foldable phone.

The hinge of the vivo X Fold2 is also improved, the blogger reveals. It now stays in all positions and angles, providing a neat kickstand for watching video content or taking photos and videos. It’s also around 10% lighter, which will be a huge improvement over the predecessors that weigh over 310 grams.

The event is also supposed to be the landing stage for an incoming tablet, vivo Pad 2, which made a sneaky appearance in the video and was part of the vivo booth at the business conference.
