Vivo X Flip Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC Expected to Launch Soon

Vivo X Flip, which is Vivo’s alleged next foldable smartphone, is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Chinese smartphone maker had launched the Vivo X Fold+ foldable smartphone in September this year with a similar SoC along with 80W fast charging support. However, the latest report does not reveal any other specs, details or key pricing information for Vivo’s alleged Vivo X Flip foldable smartphone. Big brands like Samsung, Motorola and Huawei have been seen jumping on the foldable smartphone bandwagon made possible by foldable screen technology.

According to a post by tipster Digital Chat Station on Chinese microblogging website, Weibo, a brand new Vivo X Flip phone, which is said to be a vertically foldable phone, may be coming soon. The tipster also added that the foldable smartphone could be powered by an SM8475 processor, which is the name of the model that corresponds to Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

Qualcomm recently announced the launch of a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC based on TSMC’s new 4nm manufacturing process which is claimed to offer better performance and power consumption. According to the board, the latest chipset will not make its way to the alleged Vivo X Flip smartphone.

It should be noted that there have been no leaks related to specs or renders related to a Vivo X series foldable phone. According to a report from Myfixguide, the handset could be launched within the next few months.

If the rumors turn out to be true and Vivo launches the alleged Vivo X Flip, it will rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, Huawei P50 Pocket and Motorola Moto Razr, according to the report.

Although there has been no official announcement from Vivo regarding the launch, specifications or pricing details of the alleged Vivo X Flip, the report quoting the tipster estimates that the smartphone could be launched in around two months.
