Vivo S17 Pro will come with a 12MP portrait camera

The vivo S17 Pro will have a triple camera, revealed Digital chat station. Not surprising in itself, but the leakster revealed that all three shooters will be usable, unlike previous vivo S smartphones which came with a 2MP depth sensor which barely helped with imaging.

The new smartphone will have a 50MP main camera with OIS and Sony IMX766V sensor behind. The ultra-wide-angle shooter will have an 8MP sensor, while the third camera will be a 12MP portrait camera (so likely a 2x telephoto camera) with a Sony IMX663 sensor behind it. It’s the same sensor that sits behind the Sony Xperia 1 III’s periscope lens.

The vivo S17 Pro’s camera is likely to have a more basic 2x zoom instead of a fancy 5x, but that’s still a massive improvement over the previous generation. Traditionally, vivo relaunches S phones as V series outside the domestic market, which means we can see a vivo V29 Pro internationally with the same camera configuration.
