Vitor Pereira considering withdrawing from Everton manager running
A fresh update on Everton’s managerial hunt has emerged on Wednesday.
One of the leading contenders for the job looks to have been Vitor Pereira, whose most recent job saw him managing in Turkey with Fenerbache.
However, Everton fans are seemingly not too keen on the idea of Pereira becoming their next permanent boss after Rafa Benitez, with some opting to spray paint the message ‘Pereira out Lampard in’ on a wall of Goodison park on Tuesday:

Following this backlash, it appears that Everton fans may get their wish, with the Daily Mail reporting that Vitor Pereira is considering withdrawing from the running for Everton job following fan protests.
It is added that the DM spoke to the Portuguese coach, who has told them he is sad at the protests from supporters against his appointment given people are judging him without knowing him.
And, seemingly to the joy of at least some Everton fans, Pereira’s withdrawal is set to open the door to Frank Lampard being appointed as Rafa Benitez’s successor:

Everton in crisis
Whoever takes over at Everton, though is facing a mammoth task. The Toffees have now won just one of their last 14 Premier League matches.
As a result, they have slipped to 16th in the Premier League and are currently just four points above the relegation zone.
Everton do have a game in hand on 18h place right now, but their current position still shows just how bad they have been in 2021/22 so far.
