Vinícius Júnior one of four absentees as Real Madrid announce traveling squad to face Getafe

Real Madrid without Vinícius Júnior against Getafe

La Liga leaders make the short trip to the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Pérez to clash with fellow capital outfit Getafe CF in the early kick-off tomorrow to usher in 2022 but will be without the services of Brazilian starlet Vinícius Júnior.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti announced the traveling squad that Real Madrid will rely on as they look to go one-for-one in 2022 and cement their position at the top of the table, but Júnior is just one of four that the Italian headmaster will be unable to call upon.

Madrid will also be stripped of the services of summer signing and French starlet Eduardo Camavinga as well as Welsh icon Gareth Bale, and Spanish fullback Dani Carvajal.

Los Blancos will however be bolstered by a trio of returns in the vein of Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois, and midfield pair Federico Valverde and Dani Ceballos.

Ancelotti reflects on the latest Covid surge across Europe

Carlo Ancelotti gave his thoughts surrounding the latest Covid-19 outbreak that has gripped football across Europe due to the new Omicron variant but intends to keep faith in the protocols that have been established.

Despite the massive outbreak that has taken place in all tiers of English football, the Real Madrid boss does not believe any further changes are necessary;

“It’s a complicated issue. I respect everyone’s opinion, because each person has their own. A lot of teams have been affected, as we were against Athletic [Club]. There are protocols, we can offer opinions but we have to respect the protocols. Before making these decisions [to postpone games], the protocols would have to be changed.

We’ve already been on hiatus, and there were a few months without games being played. The pandemic is relatively under control, and we have to continue.”

With Real Madrid cruising at the top of the table, it is hardly a surprise to see Ancelotti remain keen on avoiding any disruption of service in La Liga as the Spanish giants look to continue their historic dominance of the Spanish top flight.
