Video: Furious Everton fans take aim at club’s stars following Brentford defeat
The Everton contingent in attendance at the club’s meeting with Brentford this evening were not shy in making their frustrations with the club’s stars crystal clear on the back of the full-time whistle.
Toney the difference
Rafael Benitez’s men returned to action a short time ago.
In their latest Premier League outing, the Toffees made the trip to the capital, for a meeting with Thomas Frank’s Brentford.
Everton headed into proceedings nothing short of desperate for a bounce-back result, having, on the back of a solid opening to the campaign, failed to secure three points in any of the club’s prior six league outings.
When all was said and done on Sunday, though, the woes facing all associated with the Blues only worsened.
The latest in a lengthy stretch of lacklustre displays ultimately culminated in Benitez and co. being put to the sword by a goal to nil.
The game’s telling moment arrived inside 25 minutes, when Ivan Toney slotted home from the penalty spot in confident fashion, after Andros Townsend’s clumsy challenge inside the visitors’ area:

Blues faithful fume
Everton, in turn, have now slipped to the depths of 14th in the Premier League table, just six points clear of the relegation zone.
It should therefore come as little surprise to hear that, in the immediate aftermath of the action being brought to a close at the Brentford Community Stadium, the Toffees’ fanbase were not exactly in joyous mood…
As showcased in the footage below, upon the club’s stars making their way over to the away end to thank their travelling fans for making the journey to London, they were met with a chorus of abuse and boos, to go along with some less than subtle hand gestures:
