A post-match altercation involving a pair of Wolves stars ultimately culminated in Brentford boss Thomas Frank being shown a red card on Saturday.

Frank guided his side back into action a short time ago, welcoming Bruno Lage’s Wolves to London for a Premier League showdown.

A somewhat bizarre 90 minutes – which at one point saw proceedings halted owing to an unofficial drone hovering above the stadium – eventually saw the Bees put to the sword by two goals to one.

After Ivan Toney cancelled out Joao Moutinho’s opener twenty minutes from time, Ruben Neves netted the game’s decisive 3rd goal a short time later, guiding Wolves ever-closer to the top-6 in the process.

As alluded to above, though, it was not the result itself which, on the back of the full-time whistle sounding at the Community Stadium, in fact took centre stage.

This, instead, came in the form of a heated exchange between Brentford manager Thomas Frank, and Wolves’ two goalscorers.

Frank could first be seen making a beeline for Moutinho, furiously remonstrating with the Portuguese regarding an incident late in the game.

Ruben Neves, from here, jumped to the defence of his fellow countryman, resulting in an another back-and-forth with the Danish tactician.

And Frank was not done there, either, picking up a yellow card after turning his attentions towards referee Peter Bankes, before ultimately being given his marching orders for dissent:

Relegation battle on the horizon?

Brentford’s latest defeat means that the Bees remain 14th in the Premier League table.

All at the club, however, will no doubt have one eye cast towards matters below them, owing to surprise victories secured by the likes of Newcastle United and Norwich City over the course of the weekend thus far.

Add to this the fact that all six clubs trailing them in the English top-flight boast games in hand, and Frank and co., if further results go against them over the weeks ahead, could yet be dragged into the dreaded relegation dogfight.
