Varisu, starring Thalapathy Vijay, premieres on Prime Video on February 22

Streaming platform Prime Video has set February 22 as the date for the digital premiere of Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film “Varisu.” The film’s online release date has been announced by Prime Video and producers Sri Venkateswara Creations. Vijay said he is delighted that audiences in over 240 countries and territories can watch the film when it airs on Prime Video.

“Varisu is an extremely special film for me. Despite a lavish backdrop, it is fundamentally deeply emotional and family oriented. We had a phenomenal time making it and were overwhelmed with the love and response that the film has received so far from audiences who have watched it in cinemas.

“And we’re thrilled that even more of our fans in over 240 countries and territories can now watch this film when it premieres on Prime Video,” the superstar said in a statement. Director Vamshi Paidipally said “Varisu” is an all-around family entertainer that delivers action, comedy, drama and romance for audiences of all ages.

The Tamil action blockbuster, which hit theaters last month, also features Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Yogi Kumar, Sarath Kumar, Shaam, Prabhu and Meka Srikanth.
