This pushes the official unemployment rate of the country to 23.3%, which is a considerable decrease from the 30.1% figure recorded in the first quarter.

According to an extended definition of unemployment (those who are depressed or who have given up on searching for employment), the rate scaled up to 42% in the second quarter.
