Steve Bruce sacked
In what was perhaps the least surprising news of last month, Newcastle would announce on October 20th that they had parted ways with Steve Bruce.
#NUFC can confirm that Steve Bruce has left his position as head coach by mutual consent.
The club would like to place on record its gratitude to Steve for his contribution and wishes him well for the future.

Bruce was appointed Magpies boss in July of 2019, and went on to manage 97 games for his boyhood club.
In that time, Bruce picked up 29 wins, drew 25 games and lost 43. He leaves with the club sitting in the relegation zone, having failed to pick up a league win so far this term.
But before this season, Bruce had done a decent job of keeping the cash-strapped Magpies afloat despite Mike Ashley’s unwillingness to invest heavily in the squad.
With Newcastle now having the richest owners in world football, however, it was long obvious to pretty much everyone that Bruce’s days at St James’ Park were numbered.
For the time being, Graeme Jones has found himself in charge of the club, and guided Newcastle to a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace before being smashed 3-0 by Chelsea on Saturday.
Emery to Newcastle?
But Newcastle are, of course, currently looking for a more permanent solution after sacking Bruce.
And the North East outfit appear to have found one in the form of former Arsenal boss, Unai Emery.
Emery is currently honing his craft in Spain with Villareal and has done a stellar job so far, securing the Europa League earlier this year when they beat Manchester United in the final.
Now, as per Sport 1’s Patrick Berger, Emery is now the favourite to become the new Newcastle manager, with the club’s board said to be pushing for the Spaniard as they want to present him in the next international break, which begins following this weekend’s set of fixtures.
