Two Man United stars labelled ‘the difference’ following win over Tottenham
A pair of Manchester United’s stars have been singled out for special praise, on the back of the club’s drubbing of Tottenham.
CR7 leads rout
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of course led his side back into action a short time ago.
Amid mounting pressure on the shoulders of the Norwegian, United made the trip to north London, for a Premier League showdown with the aforementioned Tottenham.
And, upon the final whistle sounding, to say that Solskjaer’s players stepped up in his moment of need would be putting it lightly.
A stellar all-round display ultimately culminated in the Red Devils departing the capital with all three points, courtesy of a dominant 3-0 victory.
Cristiano Ronaldo proved the star of the show, opening the scoring by means of a pinpoint volleyed effort, before teeing up Edinson Cavani to make it two just beyond the hour mark:

And there was even time for Marcus Rashford to add some gloss to the scoreline late on, emerging from the bench to take advantage of a gaping Spurs backline with his third in four games.
Cavani & Varane hailed
In turn, on the back of a fine day all-round for those of a Manchester United persuasion, a whole host of the club’s stars have since, for good reason, been singled out for praise.
The likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay and the aforementioned Ronaldo shone throughout the action, playing key roles in the eventual result.
As outlined above, though, it was the introduction of two players in particular to the visitors’ starting XI this evening which the Red Devils faithful evidently feel made ‘the difference’.
Those in question? Raphael Varane and Edinson Cavani.
Stopper Varane had of course spent the last couple of weeks on the sidelines with an injury picked up whilst on international duty, while veteran hitman Cavani had simply struggled to nail down a starting berth to this point in the campaign.
Against Tottenham, though, both were utilised from the off amid a change in formation, and Manchester United looked all the better for it…
Cavani, and especially Varane made a massive difference today. Send France a sick note for the next International break.

Bit frantic at times, understandable given the circumstances. Massive improvement from all of them from last week, thought AWB/McTom had their best games in ages.
Varane makes a huge difference and Cavani must be a starter from now on.
Did everything asked of them today.

I moaned about the starting line up but the 2 people who have come in Varane and Cavani have been excellent made such a difference. Wan Bassaka as well has been very good, I thought he would struggle in this system but he’s done well tonight. Spurs have been horrendous though!

#Varane made such a difference at the back.#Cavani made such a difference up front.
Maybe it is only Spurs, but I’m happy with that performance.
