Usually the best way to tell if a service is down is to look on Twitter. But this time we really can’t do anything because Twitter itself is facing some issues. Several people, including TechCrunch staff, reported that many parts of the social network were broken for them, including the following timeline. The “For You” algorithmic feed displays older tweets.

Thousands of people reported that Twitter was not accessible on both mobile and desktop on, a service that tracks outages through crowdsourced reports.

Some parts of Twitter, such as notifications and lists, work fine. And if you post a tweet, it will appear in these lists. At the moment, the best way to access Twitter is through Tweetdeck’s Lists.

While #TwitterDown is trending on the platform, it is not possible to access the latest posts with the hashtag.

The latest outage comes days after Elon Musk cut more than 200 jobs in the company’s latest round of layoffs. This included Esther Crawford, head of Twitter Blue, and Martijn de Kuijper of newsletter app Revue.

This isn’t the first time Twitter has faced problems in recent months. In December, the social network encountered glitches and showed users a “rate exceeded limit” error. Later, Musk said the company had rolled out “significant changes to the core server architecture.” Earlier this year, Australia-based users faced difficulties accessing the service.

In February, Twitter began showing users that they exceeded their “daily debit limit”. At the same time, another bug prevented people from following other users.
