Twitter Blue is now also available as an annual subscription

After the mess that was the revamped Twitter Blue subscription service with a slew of fake accounts impersonating celebrities and corporations around the world causing chaos, the service was relaunched in December. From now on, the platform offers an annual subscription in addition to the monthly one.

The monthly subscription in the US, for example, costs $8 a month or $11 if you’re an iOS user, while an annual payment of $84 will get you a blue badge for a year. That’s about $7 a month, which isn’t that big of a discount, but it’s still something if you’re a “hardcore” user and plan to pay it anyway.

For those who don’t know, Twitter Blue not only gives you a blue verification badge, but also priority ranking in conversation replies, a 60-minute video upload cap, a feed reader, and the ability to edit the tweets.

Currently, the service is only available in certain countries – the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. A wider deployment is planned in the coming months.
