Trio of Man United stars ruled out of Southampton clash
Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has provided an insight into the wellbeing of his squad, ahead of the club’s upcoming meeting with Southampton.
The Red Devils are of course set to mark their return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon.
After being held to a disappointing 1-1 stalemate by Burnley in midweek, Rangnick’s troops will turn their attentions towards a meeting with the aforementioned Southampton at Old Trafford, hopeful of a bounce-back result.
Such efforts, however, will come with United unable to call on a trio of players.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Ralf Rangnick confirmed that all of Eric Bailly, Fred and Nemanja Matic are unavailable for selection:
“The three players who will not be available tomorrow are still Eric Bailly, Fred, obviously because he was still testing positive, and Nemanja Matic. He has some problems with his shin,” the German explained.

Stopper Alex Telles, after being forced to sit out in midweek owing to a positive test for Covid-19, is in contention to mark his return to the pitch on Saturday:
“Alex resumed training yesterday. He might be available, I’ll have to speak to him after training today about how he feels because he was out for one and a half, almost two weeks but he took part in training yesterday.”

Poch eyes Kane
Turning attentions away from the pitch and towards the transfer front, an interesting insight into the alleged plans of Mauricio Pochettino, should the Argentine be appointed as Ralf Rangnick’s successor at Manchester United, has been provided on Friday.
The info comes courtesy of The Telegraph, who report that ‘Poch’ is already eyeing up potential additions to his ranks at Old Trafford.
