Tottenham ready to crash Newcastle’s move for Diego Carlos with midfielder offered in exchange
Tottenham are ready to crash Newcastle’s attempts to sign Diego Carlos in the last week of the window, according to footyinsider.
Newcastle have been chasing a deal for Diego Carlos all January, and have seen two bids rejected for the Brazilian by Sevilla already.

Now, however, Tottenham might be about to provide fresh competition. It was reported last week that a London club had matched the Magpies’ bid for the 28 year old defender,

Now, another bid is thought to be forthcoming.
Tottenham to steal Carlos?
A centre-back is undoubtedly a priority for Tottenham and Antonio Conte, with the Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga failing to impress thus far in the Italian’s back three.
Now, the Lilywhites have reportedly turned their attentions to Carlos, and are putting together a package that would see Argentine midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso head the other way as well as a fee paid.
Lo Celso was left out of the Tottenham squad for the trip to Stamford Bridge, despite being fully fit, and is free to leave in the last week of the window should a suitable offer come in. However, this seems unlikely to match the 43 million pounds that Spurs splashed out on him in 2020, and so the midfielder may find himself instead being used as a bargaining chip in other deals.
Should Tottenham be able to land Carlos for Lo Celso and cash, it would surely be considered a good deal.
