Tottenham place Lovro Majer ‘top of their summer shopping list’
Tottenham are said to be interested in the services of Lovro Majer, according to reports stemming from France.
Who is Lovro Majer?
Lovro Maker would sign for current club Stade Rennais in August of 2021.
The French outfit are understood to have paid close to £11m to sign the midfielder from Croatian powerhouse, Dinamo Zagreb.
For Zagreb, Majer would score 19 and assist 25 in 99 outings across all competitions.
Now, for Rennais, the 23-year-old has so far scored one and assisted two in nine outings this term, missing a few games due to injury.
One of the games missed by Majer was Rennais’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Europa Conference League.
Tottenham eye Majer
Despite missing that tie, though, it appears Spurs are interested in signing the attacking midfielder.
According to the Mirror citing French outlet Homme du Match, all of Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are interested in the Croatian.
The Mirror add that Tottenham are currently the ‘most interested’ from said trio, with the Lilywhites having placed Majer at the top of their summer shopping list.
A formation change on the cards for Tottenham?
If Spurs are indeed targeting Majer, could this mean Antonio Conte is looking to change up his system at Spurs?
Majer is most suited to a central attacking midfield role, something Spurs currently do not have in their 3-4-3.
However, Conte enjoyed success at Inter with a 3-5-2 that included a CAM. Could we see the Italian revert to that with the signing of Majer?
