Tottenham & Newcastle keen on winger with €60m release clause
Reports coming out of France have linked Premier League duo Tottenham and Newcastle United with Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco.
As reported by Get French Football News, citing Foot Mercato, Atletico Madrid man Yannick Carrasco is seeing interest from various Premier League clubs, with both Tottenham and Newcastle keen on the player and taking steps in order to sign him on Monday.
It is added that clubs, though it does not specify which clubs, are ready to meet the winger’s €60m release clause.
Should Carrasco not move this month, it appears Newcastle and Tottenham may face more competition for him in the summer, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona already in discussions over a transfer at the end of the season.

Who should sign Carrasco?
On paper, Carrasco would be a solid signing for both Newcastle and Tottenham this month, with the former needing all the quality they can to avoid the drop.
However, it is probably fair to say that Carrasco would likely be a more effective buy for Spurs right now.
Carrasco has spent much of his time in Spain operating as a left-sided midfielder in a 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 or, he has been used as a wing-back in a back-five.
So, given Antonio Conte largely operates with a back-five, Carrasco would probably do very well for Spurs as a left-wing-back.
But even if Newcastle do miss out on Carrasco, they have already had a very successful transfer window.
The club have already brought in Bruno Guimaraes, Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood, whilst Dan Burn, Matt Targett and Hugo Ekitike also look as though they could be on their way to Tyneside.
