Tottenham new boy Emerson Royal hints at next club just days after arrival
Emerson joins Tottenham
Emerson Royal joined Tottenham Hotspur from Barcelona in a 25 million euro deadline day deal, after just two months in Catalunya. The Brazilian had been signed by Betis in July, but less than two months later found himself a cashed in chip as Barca looked to balance their finances.

After a hectic summer, Emerson will be hoping that he can put all of the behind him and focus on the Premier League for the upcoming season.
Full-back talks Barca
In an interview with Spanish outlet Marca, Emerson discussed what had happened across the Summer, that went from him being a potential Barcelona star, to moving to north London on deadline day.
Asked about why he was signed by Barcelona, Royal revealed:
“When I arrived I was sure that Barcelona did not want to sell me, but seeing what happened I am clear that when they signed me they already had the idea of selling me in mind.”
Clearly, the way the situation was handled hurt the Brazilian, who said:
I kept telling them my dream was to play here, but I’m not stupid. They used kind words, but they wanted me gone. I left because I didn’t want to stay and be sad at a club I loved”
This was despite public comments from president Joan Laporta that “we hope he can be here for many more years”.

However, it sounds as though Emerson is not quite ready to give up on his Barca dream yet, with the full-back revealing that:
“I leave with the feeling that one day I will return to give that joy to the fans.”
Could he be heading back to Spain if he impresses with Spurs?
