Tottenham latest: New Bentancur favourites, Kulusevski ‘close’ & exchange bid tabled for key Newcastle target
A fresh insight into the efforts of the transfer team at Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur to add to Antonio Conte’s squad ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline has been provided on Saturday.
The first update surrounds the Lilywhites’ chase of Juventus wide-man Dejan Kulusevski.
Spurs are widely understood to have turned their attentions towards Swedish international Kulusevski after being overtaken by Liverpool in the Luis Diaz sweepstakes earlier this week.
And, if the latest comments on the part of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano are anything to go by, then the endeavours of Daniel Levy and co. appear closer than ever to bearing fruit.
This comes with Tottenham and Juventus ‘close’ to agreeing on a move for ‘Kulu’, understood to be in the region of 30 to 35 million euros:

Villa drop out
Next up comes the latest on Spurs’ efforts to add to their ranks in the middle of the park.
Massimiliano Allegri’s Juve have once again been identified as the ideal shopping market on the part of Daniel Levy and the transfer chiefs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, amid a concerted push to lure Rodrigo Bentancur to the English capital.
Uruguayan international Bentancur was originally understood to be closing on a move to Premier League rivals Aston Villa, but, as per widespread reports on Saturday, Steven Gerrard’s side have opted to drop their interest at the last.
Such a move, in turn, has afforded Spurs a clear path at ‘Benta’, with the Lilywhites now viewed as ‘in pole position’ to strike a deal:

Lo Celso out/Carlos in?
Last up comes an altogether fresh link between Tottenham and one of Europe’s most talked about players this month.
The individual in question? Diego Carlos.
Sevilla stopper Carlos was of course previously expected to make the move to newly-minted Newcastle United, amid the Magpies’ remarkable January recruitment drive.

In the end, however, a deal failed to come to fruition.
And, as per Marco Conterio, chief editor at Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, this has opened the door for Spurs to step forth with a proposal of their own.
It is suggested that Lilywhites transfer chief Fabio Paratici has offered up out-of-favour midfielder Giovani Lo Celso as part of an exchange deal for Carlos, amid a concerted push to coax Sevilla into a deal before the transfer window slams shut on Monday.
