Tottenham Hotspur dealt major transfer blow as tricky winger pens new contract

Tottenham chase a winger

Amidst a Harry Kane dominated summer, Tottenham have gone about their transfer business quietly and efficiently. They have already recruited Atalanta duo Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero, as well as initiating a deal that saw Erik Lamela swap north London for Seville in exchange for young talent Bryan Gil.

They have been further boosted by the fact that Heung-Min Son has renewed his contract with the club, and that Harry Kane has, with a week to go in the transfer window, committed his future to Tottenham.

For the final piece of their transfer puzzle, it is thought that Spurs are chasing a winger to allow Nuno to change to a 4-4-2 system.

Madueke commits future to PSV

However, that winger will not be the oft linked Noni Madueke, with the youngster penning a new contract with Dutch outfit PSV Eindoven

Announced on social media earlier today, Madueke reaffirmed his commitment to the club, saying:

“Don’t worry guys, I’m here to stay”

The English teenager had been subject to speculation linking him to Premier League sides Liverpool, Spurs and Leicester City, but now looks set to remain in the Netherlands for at least another season, and even then would command a hefty price-tag to bring him to the Premier League.

Madueke was once a part of the Tottenham academy, but has since gone on to represent PSV at senior level on 45 occasions, netting 15 goals in the process. However, at the moment he seems to be another one let go too soon by Premier League clubs.
