Word stemming from the media late on Thursday has pointed towards a potential midfielder exchange deal between Tottenham Hotspur and French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain.

The subject of French international Ndombele’s future has of course come back to the fore once more over the course of the day to date.

This comes on the back of widespread confirmation that the aforementioned PSG have set their sights on the 25-year-old, out-of-favour under yet another manager in North London at present.

The initial speculation surrounding PSG’s Ndombele swoop pointed towards a potential loan agreement, featuring an option to buy in the summer.

As alluded to above, though, ensuing updates on the situation have instead hinted that an exchange could be on the cards between the two clubs.

As per the reliable Jason Burt of The Telegraph, those in a position of power in the French capital have offered a ‘straight swap deal’ for Ndombele, centered around the services of fellow midfielder Leandro Paredes:

PSG woes

Argentine international Paredes has endured a disappointing campaign at the Parc des Princes to date.

The former AS Roma man, a more deep-lying option to Ndombele, has managed just four Ligue 1 starts, owing to a combination of fitness struggles and competition for places.

A move away from PSG, in turn, could be precisely what the doctor ordered, with Paredes likely to slot straight into the base of Spurs’ midfield, over one of Harry Winks, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Oliver Skipp.

It of course now remains to be seen, though, whether or not Antonio Conte and co. are actually keen on the idea of bringing the 27-year-old to north London.
