Tottenham eyeing second transfer attempt for Dušan Vlahović in potential 77million pound deal

Tottenham to come back in for Dušan Vlahović

In form Tottenham look set to make another move for Fiorentina’s highly-touted Serbian international Dušan Vlahović.

The Times’ northern football correspondent Paul Joyce claimed that Spurs will look to renew their interest in the Serie A starlet but will be made to pay for the privilege if they hope to secure their man after failing to do so in the summer transfer window.

Firenze outfit Fiorentina is said to want as much as £77million if they are to part ways with their goalscorer-in-chief, with Vlahović rumored to be looking for a massive pay bump on his current deal as he would maneuver for a wage packet thought to be around £200k/week before tax.

But Tottenham would face stiff competition for the FK Partizan academy graduate given the interest surrounding the 21-year-old, as Premier League rivals Manchester City, Arsenal, and Juventus all maintain credible interest in the La Viola center-forward.

How Spurs could utilize Serbian starlet under Antonio Conte

Should Tottenham successfully land Dušan Vlahović either in January or next summer, there is no indication as to what that would mean for former wantaway leading man Harry Kane at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Under Antonio Conte, Tottenham has expectedly transitioned to the three-at-the-back deployment championed by the former Italian international midfielder and they have garnered immediate results on the back of it, posting a 3-2-0 record in the Premier League since his arrival while catapulting themselves back into the top-four conversation.

But with Kane operating alongside friend and colleague Son Heung-min in a forward pair, where does that leave Vlahović?

At first glance, the easy speculative opinion would suggest that Vlahović would arrive at the club as Kane’s replacement should the England captain still look to move away should Spurs not sustain their push for the top four. But there is scope to suggest that Kane and Vlahović could operate in tandem, while Son could – in theory – be transitioned into an attacking wing-back role on the right-hand side, or, be used just behind the pair and Conte tweak his system into a 3-4-1-2 to maximize the amount of firepower on the pitch.

Regardless, renewed interest in Dušan Vlahović indicates something is afoot at Tottenham, for better or worse.
