Several players are free to leave. including Japhet Tanganga and Tanguy Ndombele, who was booed off against Morecambe in the FA Cup third round.

Additionally, Steven Bergwijn has been put up for sale, with Conte not convinced by the Dutchman since he took over at the club.

As a result, incomings would be needed to retain squad depth at the very least. However, Tottenham have been dealt something of a blow in that department.

Kulusevski set to stay

Now, however, it is looking as though one of those coming through the door will not be Juventus man Dejan Kulusevski.

There were reports that the Lilywhites were keen on a move for the Swedish starlet, but Juventus have since suffered in the wide department.

The highly talented Federico Chiesa has suffered an ACL injury in his left knee, ruling him out for the rest of the season, and leaving Kulusevski as the only recognised wide man at the club.

As a result, it has effectively ended any chance of him leaving this January
