Tottenham chief coy on potential funds for January transfer window

Tottenham vs Vitesse

Tottenham are back in European action on Thursday evening.

One of Nuno Espirito Santo’s final games in charge of Spurs before being sacked on Monday saw the Portuguese put out a fairly weak side to take on Dutch outfit Vitesse away from home.

This would backfire on Nuno, who lost the tie 1-0. Tottenham are once again taking on Vitesse this week, this time at home.

But after losing last time out, Spurs have slipped down to 3rd in their Europa Conference League group with just four points from three games.

As a result, the Lilywhites need to pick up a win against Vitesse – who are currently 2nd in Group G – to ensure they still have a decent chance of making it to the knockout rounds.

Will Tottenham spend in January?

Ahead of the tie, Fabio Paratici would speak to the media on Wednesday afternoon.

When doing so, the Tottenham director was asked about a number of topics, including transfers.

Antonio Conte has just been named as Spurs’ new boss and fans may have hoped that the club would spend in January to allow Conte to put his own stamp on the side.

However, Paratici would state on Wednesday that he has not spoken to Conte about players in January and did not answer when asked if funds would be available for the winter window:
