Spurs target Barcelona’s Emerson Royal

Tottenham is hardly blessed with consistent right-backs, and Nuno Espírito Santo’s outfit is apparently on the hunt for Barcelona’s Brazilian international Emerson Royal according to The Telegraph.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs levied an official bid for the former Real Betis standout, offering Serge Aurier in part exchange for his services only to be rebuffed by Barcelona outright.

With the bid rejected, Spurs could certainly try to return with a loan proposal for the 22-year-old, with an included buy option agreed to if the club decides to not return with an improved full deal. But with the clubs currently, options being just Matt Doherty, the aforementioned Aurier, and Japhet Tanganga (who is being pressed into service on the right-hand side), an improved offer for Emerson seems inevitable.

Adama Traoré pushes for Tottenham move; recruits Jorge Mendes as broker

Wolves winger Adama Traoré has his heart set on a reunion with former boss Nuno Espírito Santo this summer, with the Spanish international winger prepared to do what it takes to secure a move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Molineux outfit has already turned down Spurs’ first advance for the La Masia graduate, which seems to have left the player frustrated enough to enter into an agreement with super-agent Jorge Mendes to broker a deal before the window slams shut.

According to Spanish radio outlet Cadena SER, Mendes has been given the task of ‘exclusively negotiating the deal’ that would see Traoré’s pace and trickery lineup alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in a potentially devastating front-three. The move would allow Wolves to also secure a deal for Valencia’s Goncalo Guedes in what would be a win-win for both clubs.

Harry Winks up for sale as England youngster fails to impress new boss

Despite a potential midfield shortage fast approaching, Tottenham boss Nuno Espírito Santo is apparently set to let academy graduate Harry Winks go before the transfer window closes after the England youngster has failed to impress his new boss.

And it did not take the club long to sound out a potential suitor in Leeds United, who has recently been in the market for midfield reinforcements. But according to FourFourTwo citing the Athletic, Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta have rejected the offer.

With Moussa Sissoko already out the door to Watford and the future of Tanguy Ndombele in serious question, also allowing Winks to cosy up to a potential new employer should raise questions around Spurs’ recruitment plan as the window speeds to its conclusion in the middle of next week. Should Spurs offload Winks (as well as Ndombele), Espírito Santo will be left with just Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Giovani Lo Celso, and Oliver Skipp as the only central options at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium unless late business is conducted in rapid order.
