Tottenham behind big-money offer? Agent of Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic breaks silence

The agent of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has, on Friday, reiterated that his client has no intention of signing a new contract with the club.

Viola sensation

Regular viewers of Italian football have of course long been well accustomed to the talents of Serbian starlet Vlahovic.

After first showcasing his talents en route to 6 Serie A goals across the 2019/20 campaign, the 21-year-old exploded onto the scene last time out, finding the net 21 times whilst lining out for a frankly average Fiorentina side.

The 12-time capped international possesses a whole host of stellar attributes, including aerial prowess and a remarkable knack for finishing half chances.

Such traits, meanwhile, were on full display during the summer, when Vlahovic’s goalscoring exploits finally began to pique widespread attentions across the continent.

Remarkably, during a pre-season friendly meeting with minnows Polisportiva, the Serb went on to bag no fewer than 7 (SEVEN) goals, despite having only been introduced off the bench at half-time.

‘Not sign any renewal’

And such stellar exploits have since carried forth into the early months of the new campaign, too, with Vlahovic having racked up six goals across eight appearances between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear that a whole host of clubs from across the continent have begun sniffing around the striker’s signature.

The summer window, for example, saw the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus all tipped as potential landing spots.

The outfit most persistently linked with an actual big-money swoop for Vlahovic, however, were without question Tottenham Hotspur.

Amid Harry Kane’s ongoing exit links, the hierarchy on the Lilywhite half of North London were understood to have identified Fiorentina’s main man as the ideal replacement.

And, if the latest comments on the part of none other than the striker’s agent are anything to go by, then Spurs may in fact have even gone as far as to table a big-money proposal for Vlahovic at some point before the new season got underway.

In quotes secured by Florence-based outlet Firenzeviola this week, the entourage of the Serb provided a fresh insight into his future.

The news will no doubt come as a heavy blow for supporters of Fiorentina, with it confirmed that, as things stand, Vlahovic has every intention of allowing his contract – valid until 2023 – to run down at the Artemio Franchi:

‘Dusan will not sign any renewal with Fiorentina.’

Perhaps even more noteworthy, however, was the bombshell that, in fact, a proposal worth over 60 million euro was tabled by an unnamed club for Vlahovic this summer, only to be rejected by Viola president Rocco Commisso.

Could Tottenham have been behind the offer?

‘This summer we brought Fiorentina an offer of 60 million plus bonuses, there was already an agreement between us and the buying club, but the president Commisso did not want to hear reasons. Rocco replied by telling us that Vlahovic is like a son to him, that he would not have sold him in any way and that he would have done everything to renew his contract.’

From here, it was concluded that:

‘We do not want to negotiate the renewal with Fiorentina, that’s why we do not speak with you journalists or with the club.’
